Robert L. Magni Memorial Fundraiser

Kevin Magni, with his mother Karen and brother Daniel, organized this fundraiser to benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in honor of his father, Robert (Bob) L. Magni.
The night included a live performance by Kevin's band, Kevy Kev and the Kevsteins, performing hits of the '80s. After the performance, a drawing was held for gift cards, gift baskets, and other items from local businesses. The evening concluded with music by a DJ and lots of dancing.
Bob was a police officer for 30 years in the city of Newton, Mass. In 2001, he retired from the force due to illness and lost his battle with cancer in January of 2003. As a member of the police force and chairman of the retirement board in the city of Newton, Bob was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Inspired by the friendship his father developed with the staff at Dana-Farber, Kevin held this fundraiser in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009. The event raised more than $25,000 in each of its first three years.
