Jimmy Fund announces auction for special, low-numbered Red Sox/Jimmy Fund license plates
Due to the Boston Red Sox/Jimmy Fund license plate's continued popularity, the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles is about to run out of plates that begin with "RS." This November, the prefix will change to "JF" (the Red Sox and Jimmy Fund logos will still be on the plates) and new plates will be available for purchase.
Before the plates become available to the general public, the Jimmy Fund is hosting an auction of the most highly sought-after "JF" plate numbers online from August 23 through midnight August 30.
Special numbers include single digits, numbers associated with star Boston Red Sox players, and key dates in Red Sox history.
Select plate numbers in the 1–100 range will be available as well as plate numbers 2004, 2007, and 406 as part of this special auction.
