The Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl®, the nation's largest all-you-can-eat ice cream festival, served more than 40,000 ice cream lovers on June 5-7, on Boston City Hall Plaza and raised a record-setting $253,734. In its 25-year history, the Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl has brought in more than $2 million to help lick cancer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. This year’s event was presented by Idearc Media, the official publisher of the Greater Boston Verizon® Yellow Pages and home to Superpages.com®.

The Scooper Bowl featured more than 40 flavors of ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbet. Baskin-Robbins, Ben & Jerry's, Breyers, Brigham's, Cold Stone Creamery, Èlan Frozen Yogurt, Edy's Grand Ice Cream, Garelick Farms, Gifford’s, Häagen-Dazs and HP Hood donated their products, dishing out more than 800 gallons each. Many of the vendors had to bring in more of their frozen confections on the last day of the festival to feed the larger than expected crowd. In addition, Idearc Media provided cake to go with the ice cream. They presented a twelve feet tall by sixteen feet wide cake, with a frosted replica of the Greater Boston Verizon Yellow Pages cover.

The 25th Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl also served up live music from American Idol contestants Ayla Brown and Nick Pedro and other local artists. Other entertainment included a celebrity dunk tank, guest scoopers, including the Red Sox wives, Patriots cheerleaders, and New England Revolution players, and games from Boston’s other professional sports teams.

The Jimmy Fund supports cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Since its founding in 1947, Dana-Farber has been committed to providing cancer patients with the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow's cures through cutting-edge research.
