Six comedians will perform to honor Jeanne Shippey

A group of talented comedians will be using laughter to fight cancer on Oct. 23. The Comed-O-Therapy Benefit for the Jimmy Fund will take place at the Comedy Connection in Boston and will be emceed by Boston-born Cathe B.

The event will be emceed by Boston-born Cathe B. She is organizing this event in honor of her aunt, Jeanne Shippey, who was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in July of 2007. Cathe B, familiar to many for her work in Second City and on the stand-up stage, decided to do a benefit and invited other comedians to join her. Ian Harvie, Shane Mauss, Chance Langton, Jim Lauletta, and Jon Lincoln will come together and perform on one of the country's best-known stages for a night of laughs like no other.

Tickets are $25 and proceeds go to the Jimmy Fund to support cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
